Biography
Stephen Tettey Nortey is a Ghana-qualified lawyer with experience spanning banking and finance, regulatory compliance, corporate transactions, and public-sector advisory. His practice is informed by hands-on exposure to both international financial institutions and Ghana's regulatory and legal environment, enabling him to advise clients with a strong appreciation of commercial risk and regulatory nuance.
Stephen has advised financial institutions and corporate clients on lending documentation, regulatory compliance, governance, and commercial transactions, and has been involved in the drafting and review of a broad range of finance, security, and commercial agreements. His work includes supporting clients on compliance with Ghanaian banking and financial services regulations, as well as liaising with regulators and public authorities on compliance-related matters.
He has also gained international experience within a multinational banking environment in the United Kingdom where he was exposed to UK financial systems, compliance frameworks, and operational risk management. This experience has strengthened his understanding of international banking standards, internal controls, and cross-border financial operations, which he brings to bear in advising clients operating across jurisdictions. In addition, Stephen has contributed to public-sector financial governance and regulatory advisory work in Ghana, supporting policy-related reviews, regulatory interpretation, and inter-agency coordination within government institutions.
